Recently, I published a post exposing OKX, unexpectedly gaining over a thousand followers. Taking this opportunity, I would like to share my stock investment experience. First of all, I am a firm long-term investor because short-term investments are full of uncertainties, and no one can predict what will happen in the next second.
Last year, I mainly invested in Xiaomi stocks, with a total increase of nearly two times. Although this return cannot be compared to leveraged trading in the cryptocurrency space, it is relatively stable for larger funds. Part of it was purchased through the Futu platform, while the other part was traded through the domestic Hong Kong Stock Connect.
Logic Behind Investing in Xiaomi#
My reasons for investing in Xiaomi are based on the following points:
- Xiaomi's ecosystem in home, vehicle, and family has a monopolistic nature. There are almost no other companies globally that can cover such a rich variety of categories like Xiaomi. Everyone has some Xiaomi products in their homes to some extent.
- Xiaomi's automotive business will become the biggest engine for performance growth. I have always believed that Xiaomi will become China's Samsung, transforming from a mobile phone manufacturer into an industrial giant, with a very strong potential for hardware and software integration.
Logic Behind Investing in JD.com#
Next, I plan to allocate part of my position in JD.com for the following reasons:
- JD.com is about to issue a stablecoin. I am quite optimistic about JD.com's stablecoin. Analyzing Liu Qiangdong's personal psychology, I believe he has a strong desire to grow and strengthen the company, and as a former programmer, he has a deep understanding of blockchain technology. A company needs a core figure to control the overall situation to succeed; otherwise, board members may only focus on short-term profits or selling the company. Although the first batch of licenses includes Alibaba, JD.com, and several banks, the biggest application scenario for Hong Kong stablecoins lies in cross-border trade payments and retail payments. Alibaba and JD.com have rich experience in this area (Alibaba is also worth considering for investment).
- JD.com's current price-to-earnings ratio is only about 8.
- Its delivery and retail business, if successful, will bring huge market opportunities.
